This poor girl's not having a good night. Why? You decide! Though clearly it's got something to do with that stain on her dress.
This is obviously not the type of drawing I usually do, but I kinda like it. Done with a black Bic on sketchbook paper. Obviously I need work in this style and I'm not sure if it's worth pursuing it further, but I would call it a fairly successful experiment.
It was raining late last night and instead of going to bed, I just had to stay awake long enough to do this.
Artwork is (c) me 2007. Reference for the taxi was taken by looking at my boyfriend's car parked outside.
Her expression is fantastic. You really captured the mood with it and the overall dreariness of the picture in general. I also like the cross-hatching you did on the road, it gives a sense of textural difference from the sky.
Not really much i can critique here actually. ^^ Maybe try to define her elbows a bit more? Her left arm looks a bit "tube-ish".
You're right on the arms. Thanks for that! I was trying to make her look ridiculously thin so elbow definition would definitely have helped that. I really appreciate your critique; every bit helps, no matter how small!
I'm pleased with how the cross-hatching came out as well! I wanted to make a clear definition between the raining sky and the hard concrete.
Yeah, poor thing! She has all sorts of bad things going for her . . . her eyeliner is running and her dress strap broke, and she's stuck in the rain with no umbrella!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
